I only seriously considered applying to US universities at the end of my eleventh grade and when I realized what I’m in for, it naturally seemed like a very daunting process. Between college selection, testing, recommendations, essays, financial aid applications and then the pressure of the board exams looming over it all, I was so overwhelmed I didn’t even know where to start! By organizing the process and creating a comprehensive application timeline, College Core really helped assuage my fears. Thanks to College Core, I was able to wrap up my Common App Essay in June and my SATs by October, which left me with ample time to work on the other aspects of each application. Urvashi Ma’m was personally involved in every aspect of my application and her inputs helped me tremendously at every stage of the process. She was readily available for discussion and clarifications, even at the oddest hours, and that was a huge support for me.
I’ve heard from friends and family that professional counseling agencies often try to ‘standardize’ essays into a fixed format and that takes the originality out of the essays. I didn’t face any of these problems with College Core. Urvashi Ma’m always emphasized the importance of making each essay unique and we didn’t make any changes that I wasn’t comfortable with. I feel that her inputs and insights really helped to make my application unique and distinctive.
