What to Do While Waiting for the Admissions Decisions?

The entire process of applying for education abroad can become complex and stressful. The period between the submission of applications and admissions decisions is highly crucial. This is when you feel like you can’t do anything but wait, and end up feeling nervous. But here are a few things you can do during this time to make your foreign education dreams come true.

  1. Review Your Application Strategy

Review your abroad education plans and the colleges you’ve applied to. If by any chance, you’ve only applied to colleges with very low acceptance rates then you must apply to the ones with better acceptance rates and late application deadlines. You can also take help from your foreign education consultant to reach out to the admissions officer asking them to make adjustments to your submitted application because it’s still not too late to convert a regular application to an EDII.

  1. Keep up the Hard Work

You have worked really hard on writing essays, strategizing your foreign education applications and exploring college choices. You just need to maintain good grades to boost your candidacy if you get shortlisted.

  1. Apply for Scholarships

Invest your energy in submitting scholarship applications, especially if you need financial assistance to support your foreign education. Apply for the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship for a Computer Science or Engineering course. To showcase extraordinary work in science, technology, engineering, math, literature, music, or philosophy, you can go for the Davidson Fellows Scholarship. Try for the Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes to show positive work towards your community. Alternatively, you can take help from some of the best foreign education counsellors in your city to find the best scholarship options for you.

  1. Don’t Fear Getting Waitlisted

Getting waitlisted only means that you still have a chance of getting accepted if you take the right action at the right time. You need to stay engaged with the school and ask your foreign education counsellor to guide you on how to show a continued interest. You’ll need to write a letter of continued interest to the college talking about your achievements since the submission of your application and you can in addition to presenting stronger academic grades start engaging more in research, community initiatives, etc.

  1. Be Patient & Calm

To make your abroad education plans successful, you need to take some time out to relax, exercise, spend time with friends and family and be aware of your mental well-being. Just navigate the whole admission process without stress and be patient and kind to yourself.
