Why study abroad?
“The US education landscape and its remarkable liberal arts institutions that encourage students to explore a broad spectrum of subjects and leverage diverse learning methods despite their ardent preference for a specific course of study fascinated me. Moreover, my research enlightened me about the unique chance for comprehensive education, allowing for participation in courses across anthropology, religion, literature, history, art, mathematics, and statistics. I realized a US education would broaden my horizons and prepare me to innovate solutions across various fields and thrive in multidisciplinary teams. In line with these opportunities, I found my interest and curiosity gravitating more and more toward an education abroad.”
Why CollegeCore?
“When I visited CollegeCore for the first time, the only thing I was sure of was my desire to study in the US. In retrospect, the team helped me in every way possible – from initially educating me about the different types of colleges and the value of a liberal arts education to fine-tuning my Common App essay down to the last sentence. Even after the admission results came in, they held workshops to prepare us as incoming freshmen, never closing the line of communication. Always an email away, they made themselves out to be partners in helping me prepare for my college journey.”
Core Lessons
“I learned that the stepping stone to successful college life is to readily use the pool of resources such as research programs, study abroad in a completely new place, and even a rogue class that these colleges offer. A simple first step towards this is to pay attention to emails! Besides this, join one or two clubs and make friends outside the immediate friend circle to push yourself out of your comfort zone.
This approach will help you build a confident and independent identity and present you as a thought leader and team player- qualities that will enhance your success across all professional paths you choose. Lastly, instead of being too focused on what you wish to gain out of college, approach your journey with an open mindset toward different people and opportunities, as there is always something to learn, even from the unexpected.”
